Springtime Vacations in the Isarco Valley – The Pleasure of Nature in the Mountains of Alto Adige
Colorful contrasts mark the beginning of springtime during the month of March. Nature suddenly awakens and budding flowers and grass appear across the valley in Alto Adige. The warm air from the Mediterranean melts the snows along the mountain chain while the peaks remain white. Down in the valley, the apple orchards are in a full spectacular bloom and their pink and white flowers inebriatingly fragrant. Be fascinated and feel the transformation as you walk through the apple orchards of Alto Adige in springtime.
Springtime Events in the Valley Isarco
The arrival of spring is celebrated with a calendar of events and festivals throughout the Valley Isarco. Not to be missed is the Procession of S. Cassiano, which takes place on the 3rd (third) Sunday following Easter Day, and proceeds throughout the episcopal city of Bressanone. Up on the apple plateau, in the village of Natz/Sciaves, enjoy the music of the local folklore bands of the “Festival Reale” as participants proudly parade in traditional costumes. And not to be forgotten is Gastronomic Week in the Valley Isarco which is typically held in the month of March.
Excursions and Mountain Bike Tours – Active Vacations in Spring
Spring arrives earlier at the southern parts of Alpine summit with respect to the other nordic regions. Outdoor fun begins in March with hiking and biking along excursion trails and bike paths. Plan an excursion through one or more of the apple or fruit orchards in full bloom or discover your vacation area on mountain bike. The Moarhof Residence is directly linked to the longest bicycle path in Alto Adige, the Valley Isarco Long Distance Bike Trail. Or simply opt for a stroll among the immense trees of the Chestnut Trail (Velturno) which, in fact, travels right through the center of the city.
